Today is a very special day for us! It’s Cow Appreciation Day, and in order to celebrate this grand occasion, we’re releasing a new version of our very first game Cow Dash!
Cow Dash: Open Source Edition is completely free, and you can read and manipulate the source code as long as you don’t release your version commercially (read more about Creative Commons here). This is our way of saying “Thank you!”, but also contributing to the preservation of video games. Video games are culture and Cow Dash is a part of our company’s history.
Cow Dash is the first game made by Bitwave Games (back then known as Retroid Interactive). It was released on Android in 2014 with an iOS launch two years later. The game consists of 60 levels spread across 20 worlds and follows the adventures of Dash, the world’s fastest cow. Your goal is to navigate through the levels, consume vegetables, and reach the purple portal in time.
Does this sound familiar? If you have played Wunderling DX before, it’s not that surprising! Cow Dash is the spiritual prequel to our 2D puzzle platformer and the game that laid the groundwork for our lemon-like antagonist's adventure in The Vegetable Kingdom.
And yes, the same Dash also appears in Wunderling DX. She’s our all-time favorite livestock, after all!
Happy gaming and Happy Cow Appreciation Day!
